Ingrid Røynesdal is a Norwegian pianist and director of the Oslo Philharmonic. Røynesdal grew up in a musical home with her father being a musician in the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. She studied piano at the Barratt Due Institute of Music and the Norwegian School of Music. She graduated from the two-year soloist diploma study at the Norwegian School of Music in spring 2005, while also completing her master's degree in political science in the same year. She was previously director of the Edvard Grieg Museum Troldhaugen in Bergen from 2011-2013 and chair of the Ultima festival. From 2009-2011 she was a commentator and reviewer at Aftenposten news.
