Intense experiential learning driven by you, with our active support
The Vanguard is by design a challenging programme that will take you out of your comfort zone, and accelerate your journey towards becoming a leader with a broader worldview and higher level of capabilities in leading collaborative efforts.
Our team of facilitators and experience designers are equipped with the skills and tools for cross-sector collaboration to transform systems. We’re here to support your learning and leadership journey. Passionate about creating impact, we aim to unleash purpose and belief, to help corporations fulfil their potential as significant drivers of change.
You are expected to take ownership of your own learning journey, using the tools we provide you to reflect on your own progress, and report back to your sponsoring CEO at the close of the programme.
Initially you may experience some discomfort with the level of ambiguity and lack of structure. This is deliberate, as we attempt to mimic the real situations in which you will find yourself at the top of an organisation: managing a high-degree of complexity with partial information, and no blueprint or navigational chart.
We’ve found participants make the most of this learning experience if they start with the right mindset:
- Curious - ready to face up to different and perhaps uncomfortable ideas, or to challenge the status quo
- Open-minded - ready to work with new methods, and collaborate with people from different organisational cultures, knowledge and starting points
- Action-oriented - hands on and capable of quickly moving from strategy to tasks
- Willing - to help us to build the programme, outcomes, community and energy
- Ready - to commit adequate time for the tests at hand
Reflections from previous Catalysts
See what some of this past year’s Catalysts have to say about the program:

Time commitment
The average time participants (Catalysts) spend on the programme is two days per month, outside of the onboarding workshop, session calls, field visits and two Exchanges. This time is spread across a range of activities:
-
Theme team working sessions via video or telephone
- 90-minute video calls with experts and thought leaders
- Mentorship sessions
- Working sessions with impact entrepreneurs
- Individual exploration and reading
We work hard to help Catalyst teams design a rhythm of interaction that works individually and for each team. We also understand that, at times, you may need to prioritise other work or life commitments. Our team works closely with you to ensure that you are brought up to speed as needed.
That’s what’s ahead this year, which starts now with your registration.
