India2022 is a coalition of global and Indian businesses, committed to creating a new model of growth in India by 2022, the 75th year of India's independence.

The coalition was launched in March 2017 with the support of its founding partners — Hindalco, an Aditya Birla Group Company; Baker Hughes; Cyient; Hindustan Unilever Limited, Shell and TechnipFMC. The then president of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, praised this initiative as "the need of the hour". Since then new partners — Tata Trusts, State Bank of India and WPP — have also joined the coalition, which aims to leverage the power of collaboration to unlock a new kind of growth in India.

The optimistic hope is to have India grow at 10% per year, but the quality of this growth has to be sustainable and inclusive. For this, the government and private sector need to work together.
Rajashree Birla, Chairperson, The Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development; Chair, India2022 Advisory Board
I believe that businesses have a significant role to play in achieving a new, more sustainable and inclusive growth model for the future.
Sanjiv Mehta, Chairman and Managing Director, Hindustan Unilever Limited; President, Unilever, South Asia; Chair, India2022 Executive Committee
In the world we aspire to have, we need to find new ways of collaborating, which is difficult. I am optimistic about India2022 finding the code for how collaboration will look in the future.
Harry Brekelmans, Projects & Technology Director, Executive Committee, Royal Dutch Shell
When preaching gets converted into positive action and you become part of an initiative, that’s when change comes. This (India2022 coalition) is a noble initiative.
Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, State Bank of India
I think it is a great idea that the best companies in India are using their talent, knowledge, managerial abilities and resources to address some of the social challenges in the country.
Suresh Prabhu, Member of Parliament and Former Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Government of India
This wonderful initiative (lndia2022 coalition) must succeed if we wish to undo the immense damage that has been done already to our environment and our planet during the last century of industrial development.
