A playbook for low-carbon building materials and technologies to reduce embodied carbon and establish a blueprint for sustainable construction in future projects.
The client, a leading real estate developer, is looking to increase use of low carbon building materials and technologies in its future projects and develop them with lowest carbon footprint (including embodied carbon) possible.
With this background Xynteo is working with the client to develop a playbook document for low carbon building materials and technologies, with high scalability potential, to enable low embodied carbon construction practices for its future projects.
The initiative
The key objectives for the engagement:
- Identify potential novel materials and technologies which reduce carbon emissions
- Pilot identified options and filter the scalable opportunities for implementation in future projects.
Preparation of a low carbon solutions playbook allows identification of commercially viable sustainable construction practices
Xynteo’s role
Emissions baselining:
- Engaged with the client team to carry out baselining for embodied carbon footprint
Market Scoping:
- Worked on identifying commercially available and technically acceptable interventions
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engaged manufacturers to lend strategic support to the developers to deploy low carbon materials
Awareness creation:
- Helps educate stakeholders on viability of low carbon interventions to reduce embodied carbon
