Transforming India’s plastic waste ecosystem through FMCG-Bank collaboration

Created financially viable model integrating existing collection systems into unified value chain, demonstrating complete circularity in plastic waste management.

India generates 9.5 million tonnes of plastic waste a year, 45% of which is improperly disposed of or left as litter. The client, India’s largest fast-moving consumer goods company, and the CSR arm of one of India’s largest banks, are looking to address the growing plastic waste management problem in India. With only 55% of plastic waste being collected and a significant loss of economic value after first use, there is a pressing need for sustainable waste management solutions. To tackle this challenge, the clients have engaged Xynteo to develop and implement a holistic approach to plastic waste management.
