Thorhild Widvey is currently serving as Chairman of the Board at Statkraft and a member of the Board at Kværner ASA. She is a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party and has served as Minister of Culture, and Minister of Petroleum and Energy. This builds upon the experience she gained as deputy minister in both the Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal affairs, and The Foreign Office. Widvey was born in Karmøy, Norway. On the local level, Widvey was a member of the Karmøy municipal council, during which she spent six years on the executive committee. She was first elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Rogaland in 1989. A physical therapist by education, she has also served as deputy leader of the Norwegian Sporting Association of People with Disabilities.
