Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg confirmed as Xynteo Exchange key speaker

20 Sep 2019

Hans Vestberg, chairman and CEO of Verizon Communications, is heading to Oslo this October to speak at the 2019 Xynteo Exchange.

Ranked among the most influential people in the telecoms industry, Vestberg is passionate about helping companies leverage the tech revolution.

Verizon is currently rolling out a high-speed 5G network in the US, an undertaking that is unlocking opportunities for new innovations and has the potential to alter the way consumers and businesses interact with technology and each other. Vestberg and his team are also pushing forward development of Internet of Things (IoT) initiatives.

At Xynteo Exchange 2019, Vestberg will speak during Square 1 of the programme. This session aims to shed light on why and how we need to grow differently in order to address accelerating global challenges.

He will participate in a discussion with Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales about our social contract. Specifically, the way in which our current social contract may be unfit for our times – on one hand we are in an upward cycle of peace and prosperity, yet we’re still grappling with vast, systemic, global problems. It promises to be a compelling session.

Vestberg joined Verizon in 2017 as chief technology officer. He is a board member of the UN Foundation, the Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative and Childhood US (part of the Queen of Sweden’s World Childhood Foundation).

The 2019 Xynteo Exchange will take place on 9-10 October in Oslo, Norway.
