On 2 April, Xynteo Exchange/India2022 brought together distinguished speakers and guests to celebrate collaboration and action needed to re-invent growth.
Welcoming the attendees, host partner Lorenzo Simonelli, Chairman, President and CEO, Baker Hughes – a GE company said that, “there is no better place in the world to see the ongoing development that is happening in India. It is clear that we have environmental challenges, and that is what the Xynteo Exchange/India2022 addresses (now Vikaasa). No single entity can tackle these challenges alone. Today is about bringing together a discussion and take good ideas to implement into projects.”
Sanjiv Mehta, Chairman and MD, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. and President, Unilever South Asia, was also present. The focus of this year’s Xynteo Exchange/India2022 is on the action needed to address systemic challenges and replicate models for a new kind of growth, particularly for India. Following this, Shree C. Vidyasagar Rao, Governor of Maharashtra, thanked Mrs Rajashree Birla and the India2022 Advisory board for their successes and ambition.
He also emphasised the state’s role towards making scalable impact at a local level. “As the largest democracy in the world and a secular republic, India has made remarkable progress in social and economic development. If we fail to skill our men and women, our population will turn into a demographic disaster.” Business will have to bear in mind that the population increase we foresee in the future also mean there will be an ever-growing energy requirement,” he added.
