Through this session, we aim to enable collaboration and learnings across two major geographies that share an urgent need to reduce embodied carbon, while building critical housing, commercial spaces, and infrastructure.

There are valuable key learnings across both markets. For example, the UK market has had longer experience developing embodied carbon measurement and reduction strategies, increasingly supported by forward-leaning frameworks.

Meanwhile, India’s focus on embodied carbon is nascent, but had led to rapid experimentation and modernisation of construction techniques, particularly around secondary cementitious materials (SCMs) and alternative materials. Both markets seek to source scalable low carbon options for deeper integration in design & construction practices.

Description 

This exciting event, hosted by Build Ahead India and Build Ahead UK, will provide insights on the shared challenges across both geographies and will feature short presentations from 5 high-potential, innovative, and scalable technologies, covering: 

  • Decarbonised cement production processes
  • Bio-based concrete
  • Carbon sequestering cement 
  • Graphene additives in concrete 

Following presentations, there will be an opportunity for Q&A with the start-ups. Closer to the time, we will share a more detailed agenda with the names of participating start-ups.
