“Structure for participation”, Jeremy Heimans, author of New Power, advises business leaders.

Jeremy Heimans, co-founder, and CEO of Purpose met with the Leadership Vanguard catalysts in Berlin to discuss a critical leadership capability: bias for movement.

He discussed the importance of moving fast in today’s dynamic environment and being prepared to take risks in return for potentially huge gains made by speedy action.

Heimans thinking on ‘new power’ was featured as the Big Idea in Harvard Business Review, as one of 2014’s top TED talks with over 1.25 million views, and by CNN as one of the Top Ten Ideas to Change the World in 2015

When discussing transformational leadership, Jeremy advised: “You’ve got to think differently about the agency you’re willing to give ordinary people.”

Jeremy also asked the catalysts to think about how to structure their teams or organisations to enable participation.
