29 May Leadership Vanguard participants present seed concept ideas to reinvent growth
At the Leadership Vanguard Exchange in Berlin, catalysts on the programme presented seed concept ideas to their peers and experts in attendance.
The Leadership Vanguard catalysts developed these ideas by exploring emerging risks to global growth. These ideas are a response to the wicked problems – emerging risks to growth – in the fields of big data privacy, plastic waste, digital megacities, agriculture and rural energy and resilience. Some of the catalysts have already conducted field visits to India, Kenya, and South Africa to better understand the challenges on the ground.
The catalysts will now spend the months ahead working in their cross-company teams to develop the ideas they presented into scalable commercial solutions. They’ll then share their progress on these ‘interventions’ at the year’s final exchange in Oslo and some of them will be taken forward into pilots.
DNV GL’s Hari Vamadevan, who’s working with catalysts from Unilever and EDP exploring the ethics of big data, said: “We need to ensure we are coming out of the age of pervasive data and into the age of collaborative data”.
Unilever’s Ernesto Viramontes also commented on the need for organisations to adapt to the fast-changing landscape of technology evolution if they are to make a difference.
