India2022: Leaders Inspire event series on recovering better

28 May 2020

The Executive Committee of India2022 comes together to discuss the emergence of a new normal

In this period of isolation, creating opportunities for an exchange of views and knowledge sharing is particularly valuable.

As working from home extends, and could possibly become more prevalent in a ‘new normal’, finding ways to keep the human connection alive and reach one another in meaningful ways is essential for well-being.

Xynteo, organised a unique virtual interaction as part of our ‘Leaders Inspire’ series, with the Executive Committee of India2022. The session brought a range of rich cross-sector perspectives on emerging stronger from the ongoing crisis.

India2022, Xynteo’s core initiative in India, is a coalition of global and Indian businesses committed to creating impact through collaboration and the panellists for this session are the backbone for all the work and innovation we do.

We were delighted to facilitate this veritable feast of rich leadership insights and fortunate to have a fantastic gathering of 300+ deeply engaged guests from our partner universe, spanning Hindustan Unilever Limited, Royal Dutch Shell PLC, State Bank of India, Hindalco Industries Limited, Cyient, WPP India and beyond. The incisive questions from floor were as much a source of inspiration as the hope, optimism and candid sharing of knowledge and experience from the panellists.

Key messages included the need for patience and perseverance to emerge stronger and better from this time. The role of breakthrough innovation, technology and agility were underlined by an inimitable panel featuring Sanjiv Mehta, Harry Brekelmans, Satish Pai, Krishna Bodanapu, CVL Srinivas and Osvald Bjelland. The need for a new type of leadership emerged through the discussion with a view that visionary leaders must transform themselves, their organisations and the wider system.

Harry Brekelmans’ comments on the European Union’s commitment to a climate-neutral economy by 2050 were helpful to understand the importance of being on track on climate commitments to create a resilient economy. The panel collectively reiterated the need to work closely together to mitigate the impact of COVID-19, including on social and economic development.

Xynteo's Subhashini Chandran moderated this illuminating discourse with India2022 leaders - lots of fresh thinking to consider as we navigate unchartered waters together with care, compassion and courage. Watch our best moments from the session below:
