Xyntéo Chairman and CEO on CCTV

On 24 March 2011, Xyntéo Chairman and CEO Osvald Bjelland appeared on CCTV’s current affairs programme Dialogue. An authoritative English-language talk show, Dialogue has the highest ratings on CCTV-9.

Talk show host Yang Rui has interviewed a wide range of guests including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, former US Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton and former UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali.

In the interview, Dr Bjelland applauded China’s leadership in moving towards a lower-carbon economy: “In the 12th five-year plan China is setting clear targets with regards to renewables and energy efficiency”. While China has shown  a strong

capacity for change Dr Bjelland points out that further innovation is needed to ensure China’s transition to a low-carbon society.
