Our name

What’s in a name?

Xyntéo – pronounced "zin-tay-o" – is one-of-a-kind. Dr Osvald M. Bjelland, Xyntéo’s Chairman and founder, and Stephan Carlquist, its Executive Vice President, created it by recycling two old words.

Synetikos is Greek for "to bring forth together". Abeo is Latin for "change". And that’s what we try to do. We work together to create change.
