Unilever Chairman Michael Treschow chairing the GLTE India Infrastructure Partnership
Unilever Chairman Michael Treschow is chairing the GLTE India Infrastructure Partnership together with Dr Jamshed Irani, former Director of the Tata Group. A former chairman of Ericsson, Treschow is one of the most influential people in European business today. He has previously held non-executive roles with Investor AB, Atlas Copco AB, SKF AB, Saab AB and Parker-Hannifin Corp.
The GLTE India Infrastructure Partnership aims to:
- bring together business leaders and policy-makers to find practical, profitable and innovative solutions to India’s infrastructure needs
- heighten understanding of what it takes to build public-private partnerships capable of unlocking and accelerating low-carbon growth
- “uncover” new approaches to the low-carbon challenge
“It’s not only companies that compete in today’s world” says Treschow. “It is actually regions and countries as well. And in that sense, infrastructure is the key word. I’m a true believer that infrastructure almost always pays off, because companies will not go places with poor infrastructure.”
